In the colours of India, this booklet of burning paper is designed to purify elegant homes and carry everywhere a little of the India of the Maharajas. Each strip is steeped in the Papier Indien fragrance — an oriental accord of sandalwood, spices and resins directly inspired by the fragrance Empire des Indes.
Simply tear a fine strip, light it and blow out the flame: the scented smoke rises in airy wisps, enveloping the room in a mysterious, oriental veil. The effect is instant, intense and ephemeral — like a travel memory surfacing without warning.
But burning paper is not only made to burn. One can also slip the strips into drawers and wardrobes to lastingly scent linen, tuck them into an envelope to write a perfumed letter, or forget them at the bottom of a handbag to perfume its contents. An object as beautiful as it is useful, as poetic as it is practical.
