1928. The Roaring Twenties are in full swing. Women dance, smoke, drive — and marry on their own terms, in flapper dresses and short veils. “Marions-Nous!” — the injunction is joyful, impudent, full of life. This fragrance captures its spirit.
The opening is a classic bridal bouquet: rose, jasmine and hyacinth — three white and pink flowers that have, for centuries, been companions to the nuptial ceremony. The heart takes an unexpected turn: red carnation — the flower of passion — mingles with powdery iris, sparkling aldehydes and creamy ylang-ylang, in an accord at once floral and carnal. The base is the first morning after: softened civet brings its animal warmth, Tonkin musk its enveloping sensuality, and sandalwood its creamy softness.
