Christmas is coming. Debates quieten, shop windows light up, the scent of orange and cinnamon fills the streets. The Trêve des Confiseurs now has its soap.
The expression was coined in December 1874, when the National Assembly suspended its proceedings for the holidays. The satirical press noted that politicians took leave while confectioners enjoyed their best trade. This soap is its olfactory translation: orange reigns supreme, enhanced by a warm Ceylon cinnamon evoking Christmas Eve biscuits, mulled wine and roasted apples. A soap of celebration and comfort.
